Yinson Production partners with Carbon Circle to advance Carbon Capture Solutions

Yinson Production has entered into a cooperation agreement with Carbon Circle AS to explore and deliver carbon capture projects as part of its broader carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions.

Under this agreement, the parties will focus on developing carbon capture as a service (“CCaaS”) for industrial emitters in Europe. The cooperation aims to capture CO₂ from chemical and combustion processes for subsequent transport and permanent geological storage, supporting emitters in their decarbonisation journeys while contributing to regional and global sustainability goals.

This collaboration builds on the successful execution and delivery of the world’s first offshore post-combustion carbon capture unit, installed onboard Yinson Production’s Agogo FPSO. Carbon Circle will contribute its portfolio of modular post-combustion carbon capture facility designs, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. These technologies will complement Yinson Production’s CCS strategy, enhancing its ability to provide integrated decarbonisation solutions.

Carbon Circle AS and Bilfinger have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in the execution of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) projects across Europe.

The agreement brings together Carbon Circle’s expertise in front-end engineering and carbon capture systems with Bilfinger’s broad industrial experience and proven capabilities along the entire CCUS value chain. The partnership is aimed at supporting clients with the development and execution of modular CCUS projects — with an initial focus on Northwest Europe and project sizes up to ~500,000 tonnes of CO₂ captured per year.

The MOU outlines a framework for:

Joint development and execution of CCUS projects

Shared client engagement and project bidding

Resource coordination during concept, FEED, and EPC phases

A pragmatic division of responsibilities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and site works

The collaboration is expected to create added value for clients by leveraging the strengths of both parties to reduce project risk, increase speed-to-market, and ensure reliable delivery.

The agreement is non-exclusive, the two companies will jointly assess project pipelines, define roles on a per-project basis, and work with local and national stakeholders to advance carbon capture projects from concept to completion.

Preparing the future for large scale injection of CO 2

OSLO – October 20, 2024 – Carbon Circle AS continues its involvement with the innovative Havstjerne CO 2 Injection License, having recently completed another multidisciplinary engineering contract with Stella Maris CCS. This four-month study included the design of post-combustion CO 2 capture units and offshore infrastructure utilities for large-scale CO 2 sequestration.

The Havstjerne project is a large-scale initiative to collect liquid CO 2 from various locations across Europe, transport it to an offshore injection site, and inject it into a subsea reservoir.

The Havstjerne license (EXL006) is situated in blocks 9/3, 9/6, and 10/4 in the southern NCS, with Harbour Energy holding a 60% operatorship and Stella Maris CCS owning 40%.

Closing Joint Venture agreement with Rangeland Engineering, Calgary Alberta

Calgary (CA) & Oslo (NO) – 6th of September 2024 – Carbon Circle AS and Rangeland Engineering Canada Corp. announce formalization of a joint venture agreement to provide decarbonization solutions and services in Canada.

The newly formed Carbon Circle | Rangeland Joint Venture Ltd. will integrate extensive Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) expertise with proven Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) project execution methods along with local insight and knowledge to bring carbon capture solutions to the Canadian and international markets; efficiently, effectively and more economically. Preparing the future for large scale injection of CO2

OSLO – 24th of April 2024 – Carbon Circle AS has been awarded a significant study contract for the ground-breaking Havstjerne CO2 Injection License, on behalf of Altera Infrastructure and its Stella Maris CCS solution.

The Havstjerne development being a concept of collecting CO2 from locations across Europe, transporting the CO2 to an offshore injection site, and injecting it into a subsea reservoir via a Direct Injection Unit (DIU). Carbon Circle will under this engineering contract perform the design of a remotely operated, normally unmanned DIU with capacity to receive and inject 11 million ton per year of liquefied CO2.

The Havstjerne license (EXL006) is located in block 9/3, 9/6 and 10/4 in the southern NCS with Wintershall Dea 60 % operatorship and Altera Infrastructure as partner with 40% ownership.

We have been awarded the EPC contract for world's first post combustion carbon capture unit for FPSO

Carbon Circle AS has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contract by YINSON PRODUCTION (YP) for a world-first post combustion carbon capture unit to be installed and integrated on a floating offshore O&G installation.

The unit will be installed on Yinson’s newly awarded FPSO for the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development Project in Angola (“FPSO Agogo”). The FPSO will commence operation in 2025 on behalf of Eni Angola S.p.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Azule Energy (“Azule”). Azule is Angola’s largest independent oil and gas producer, and a 50/50 joint venture between BP p.l.c. (“BP”) and Eni S.p.A. (“Eni”). The unit will be delivered in Q3 2024, and when in operation will perform partial capture of CO2 from the exhaust of a Gas Turbine and the chosen technology is an amine-based capture process.

2022 saw a successful launch of Carbon Circle. 20 professionals are on board, with many more to come in 2023. We see huge demand for our services, not just within traditional oil and gas, but also within clean tech. Three large contracts signed in December alone.

The world needs more energy and the demand for Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) is growing at such a rapid pace, that it is difficult to keep up with for service providers like Carbon circle.

We have a specialized team with professionals offering CCS project development with end-to-end CCS solutions to customers, from the initial planning phase to analysis, financing, construction, and operations onsite CCS plants. It is very complex operations and very just a few players have the know-how and the professionals to offer similar solutions.

Carbon Circle is part of the Green Transition Holding Group, which offers extensive services within clean tech, specialized on Energy-from-Waste (EfW) and CCS. We already see good synergies by securing contracts in both the UK and Canada for FEED Studies within EfW.

In December we entered into a non-exclusive frame agreement with Ocean GeoLoop (OGL) for delivery of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, related to OGL’s propriety carbon capture technology. It was our solid EPC experience and track record that won us the contract. There are many more to come going forward.

Carbon Circle Holding AS (CCH) and Ocean GeoLoop AS (OGL) has entered into a non-exclusive frame agreement for delivery of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, related to OGL’s propriety carbon capture technology.

Both Odd-Geir Lademo, the CEO of OGL and CEO Aslak Hjelde of CCH express the importance of this agreement for the two companies.

“Ocean GeoLoop is one of the most exiting companies within the carbon capture space. It´s a great honour to support OGL and to reduce their clients carbon footprint,” says Hjelde.

OGL’s technology is currently being piloted at Norske Skog’s factory in Skogn – Trøndelag. The company’s end of pipe solution is easily integrated with the customer, connecting directly into the flue gas stack. This low complexity provides large savings compared to other carbon capture solutions. The robust process is designed to handle all flue gasses with minimal needs for special adoptions.

Private Placement Successfully Placed

OSLO – June, 2022 – Carbon Circle Holding AS (‘Carbon Circle’ or ‘Company’) is pleased to announce that a Private Placement (the ‘Private Placement’) has been successfully placed. The Private Placement included an allocation of 168 of new shares for gross proceeds of NOK 16.800.000,-.

Pharos Advisors acted as advisor in connection with the Private Placement.

The net proceeds from the Private Placement will go towards costs related to establishing the organization and SG&A runway for the Company.

Following registration of the share capital increase pertaining to the Private Placement with the Norwegian Register of Business Enterprises, the Company will have a registered share capital of NOK 1.168.000,- divided into 1.168 shares, each with a nominal value of NOK 1000.
